Robust successor selection process to begin in late March
Webster, NY— Webster Town Supervisor Tom Flaherty announces the upcoming retirement of Webster Town Clerk and Receiver of Taxes Dorothy “Dolly” Maguire. Maguire is set to retire in July.
In the months leading up to Maguire’s retirement, there will be an extensive selection process congruent with the hiring process for department leadership positions at the Town of Webster. The posting for the position will be public on Monday, March 18, and will be broadly posted for 30 days.
Resumes for qualified candidates will be reviewed by a selection committee consisting of town officials and subject matter experts. Interviewees for this position will participate in roundtable interviews with the selection committee. The Town Clerk/Receiver of Taxes is a public officer and must be a resident of the Town of Webster.
“The Town Clerk and Tax Receiver play a vital role in municipal government,” said Flaherty. “Over the past four years, the town has intentionally developed a robust process for hiring town department heads. The selection process for this position will follow the same structure to engage and hire an experienced professional to best serve the Webster community.”
Maguire has had an extensive and accomplished career in public service beginning in 1989. She began working for the Town of Webster in 2017, starting as Town Clerk and Receiver of Taxes in July 2020.
